Throw Back Thursday Fanning the Flames Mittens

A long time ago- over 4 years now, these mittens use to hang in the shop where I use to work called Tangled yarns.

One day at work I completed whatever project I had with me and needed something for the next 5 hours of my day. I grabbed a skein of Jitterbug by Colinette and some Lantern Moon rosewood needles and started these beauties.

They were fun knit I recall. I use to do one fan a day and got one mitten done.

Intrigued by the mitered fan construction, I even figured out how to make them in Noro Silk Garden, unfortunately, I made that one right handed to so I didn’t even get a miss match pair.

What is sad is that I cannot even remember why I did not make the next one?????

    So Should I

    Keep for finishing Someday

                Rip it and recycle

    Or Give away ???

My vote is to finish the Jitterbug & rip the Noro. Not a big Noro fan here. 🙂

  2. kim says:

    Finish them!!!! They are GORGEOUS!!

  3. Jacqui Tondreau says:

I would make the other one. They are adorable and it will be quickly finished. If you don’t want them when they’re done, I’m sure there’s someone who does!!

  4. jessie marie says:

    Keep for finishing! Love this!

  5. You should finish the red one, and that probably will remind you how to finish the Noro one. You can give the Noro ones to me. 😀 The last sentence was a joke, but the Noro yarn is definitely my colors. ;D I still want the blue/green/brown yarn in the center of your WIPs from last week.

  6. Clara says:

I think you should finish the Noro ones! The colors are great!

  7. Alison says:

Definitely finish them the colinette ones. I’m sure someone would love to receive them as a gift. As for the noro… maybe frog and use as an accent color in a small project?

  8. Dianne Nichols says:

I have several socks in the very same situation you have here..and in all honesty, I have NO desire to finish them..I’d rip and start a new pattern that you will knit up quickly..OR finish the Jitterbug and RIP the Noro~

  9. Judy Legere says:

if you don’t like the pattern or the yarn doesnot feel right for this project give it away don’t throw it away, because yarn is soo expensive to waste.

I say rip the Jitterbug and finish the Noro. Love both colorways!

  16. Jeanie says:

I agree with Rich–Rip the Noro and finish the Jitterbug. Then give the finished set to your local school’s clothes closet

  17. […] Not – The winner of the Throw Back Thursday Give Away will be chosen before I go and alternate plans will be made with Kimberly from SomeBunnyslove to […]

  18. Kate says:

I guess I’m in the minority… I’d rip the Jitterbug and finish the Noro.

  19. kristi says:

I vote to keep the noro. I think the pattern shows up better than in the jitterbug. Pretty!

  20. Beth K says:

Say “no, no” to the Noro, and frog that baby. Life is just too short.
    Definitely finish that GORGEOUS Jitterbug!
