I have also been playing at making a small quilts for Fourth of July, one as a table runner and one to hang on our apartment door. I knew what I wanted in my head but could not find it so I pulled out the graph paper and got to work
I made 2 rail fence table runners (I bought more than enough fabric)
Next I learned all about Binding… (hence the title)
I often think, “If I knew how much ironing and hand sewing was involved I am not sure I would really want to do this quilting thing.”
I am so glad I have reading glasses other wise I would not be able to do all this hand sewing. . . when did that happen?!?!?
For my Door, I had 2 ideas
It took some quality time with my stitch ripper and some re-working but it all came together.
I have to say I am so PROUD of this piece… I learned a lot and it looks good at the same time.
Last week at The City Quilter I found the perfect thread to quilt up this baby blanket. I really have to get my butt moving because the baby was early… (Mumma and Babe are healthy and fine) So this weekend I will pin it together and start Stitching in the Ditch.
Have a good week and Happy Crafting,
