Stitches East- 2012
I have not been to a Stitches Even for a number of years; it was so good to get back to one. Just like walking into grandma’s house, it was kind and comfortable from the first step through the doors.
I did not take any classes this time, so I spent my weekend in the market doing my best to stimulate the economy…
I meet the Bar Maids and got a whole bunch of their lovely products = Lo-Lo Body bar, Lo-Lo Cuticle intensive, iC/E Serum and got a Lo-Lo- to go free… I love this stuff!!
I was enticed by the beautiful colors in the North Light Fibers booth. WOW what lovely yrns and such nice people- Sven & Laura are. I know I wasn’t looking for yarn but these three had to come home with me.
While I was there, Deborah Newton came in the booth. She remembered me from Vogue Live last year, and she told me all about the Block Island Knitting Retreat next year 2013- I will be looking into going to this.
I made my mandatory stop at Yarn Barn of Kansas where I got 2 more Japanese stitch books, and some DVDs- Lucy Neatby and Elizabeth Zimmermann – I splurged a Namaste needle buddy, I am pretty sure these where yarn fume induced purchases. – I also got a US7 4.5 mm 32” Addi, I need a new one for Hubs sweater.
In my wanders I got to visit with the charming Shannon Oaky and came home with 2 Cooperative Press books – How did that happen.?.?.?
And my prize purchase of the weekend is my Bacon yarn- No not yarn spun from bacon- I would probably eat it before I ever knit it… But Bacon colored yarn from Holiday Yarns. Bacon is the new black you know….
Meeting Jennifer and Jenny was such a delight. I have not laughed this much in some time. I am looking forward to designing a some lovely items with Holiday Yarns.
My Saturday started with joy of chatting with Robin Melanson – she is a great designer and such a cool person.
and ended with lots of fun in the Decadent Fibers booth.
Thanks to every one who stopped by on Saturday!! It was so much fun meeting all of you.
Now it is time to get ready for Rhinebeck!!
